Hey,
is it possible to directly manipulate the private data of a job at a check point with the Switch Client? The only possible solution i found is to create the corresponding fields as metadata fields, fill the default value with the current private data values and then after the check point run a script taking the values of the "Check" metadata set and refill the private data with it...
am i doing this very complicated or is there no other solution to manipulating private data with the switch client?

You are limited by the capabilities of SwitchClient. That's the only method I've found to allow user editing of private data. Your script can be smarter about mapping Switch dataset back to private data by enumerating the dataset and automatically (re)settings private data values.
