Is it enough to set GlobalData to "" in order to free the used memory?

Yes. What is it you are storing in there that you are concerned about this? A complete phone book?

No, I am concerned about memory space that I might loose access to it - I am taking manuals quite serious. As there is no list of already used GlobalData keys I have to know how to remove them before I create them.
