Pitstop Server and Switch on different servers

I would like to know whether it is possible to put Pitstop Server and Switch on different servers. Is there a way to let the configurator talk to Pitstop Server that is not on the same machine.

The reason behind it - as you can imagine - is that I expect heavy load

You have to do PitStop-hotfolders that Switch puts and gets the file.. That works just fine.
