HP Digital Front End JDF control V8 not working
Re: HP Digital Front End JDF control V8 not working
I have the same problem, haven't find any solution, so I will follow this. Had to change all flow to manually download to the indigo.

I also had this happen. Updated the configurator after it took a whole day to troubleshoot it to get it working again. You need to try a bunch of different settings and a lot of this depends on if you're running a mac or PC Switch Server.
Start here: delete the configurator and replace it with a new one. Do not copy over old property values. In my case, it took so long to troubleshoot because our JDF configurators became corrupt between updates, so dropping in a new one and configuring a fresh one was what we needed to do.

Re: HP Digital Front End JDF control V8 not working
I ran into the same thing with the v8 Configurator. They sent me v9, that is supposed to fix this, but i haven't had time to test it yet. I went back to v2 for now.

Downloading doesn't help. The Jdf's go straight into the error-folder which is on the dfe and in the jdf-folder.lombert wrote:I have the same problem, haven't find any solution, so I will follow this. Had to change all flow to manually download to the indigo.

I've removed the olde version from the WF before setting up the new one. I didn't copy any property.gabrielp wrote:I also had this happen. I started with fresh motivation today, but still no results.

I had the same problem. Had to troubleshoot with Chad at HP a lot to fix it. Ended up being a corrupted configurator, so dropping in a new one helped. Re: HP Digital Front End JDF control V8 not working
Now it works for me again. I don't knew if it just was the remove of the configurator, but I did remove it and installed it again. Then looking at gaprielp settings and change them so it was correct for my presses and the file works just fine..

Fist: Have you tried to change the URL to just: FILE://HPPro01-SM01/Jobs/Switch-DFE-Output-DECKS ?
As far as I remember I had to set the Asset File Location and the Asset Location URL to the same folder in order for the JDF Control to work properly.
In my case the Asset File Location is /Volumes/Jobs/JDF-asset and the Asset File URL is FILE://HPRO-SM1/Jobs/JDF-asset.

Re: HP Digital Front End JDF control V8 not working
Eureka! Finally I have a working configurator and a working Workflow.
This is how I did it.
I've removed the configurator which wasn't working afterall and placed an output folder only to get the WF working
I've saved the WF and quit the Switch Software.
I've restarted the software and let several pdf's run true the Workflow.
Then I replaced the outputfolder with HP configurator V8.
All values of the configurator where now "Not set"
I've replaced the value of each property of the configurator one by one, saved it each time and dropped an order into the workflow to see what happened.
From the first attempt, setting up the "output format" in the properties pane of the configurator, the JDF was picked-up by the dfe and a ripped file was placed on the press.
I've managed to set all values as I want/need them except "Stack with Jog Offset" Yes or No doesn't work. The JDF failed every time.
It probably hangs together with the stacker destination value.
There are still some settings which are not implemented in the configurator but already available on the machine. You can configurate them in the Ticket template which is used in the ISV. In the configurator leave the value "Not set"
these are the settings http://tinyurl.com/zr9g2tg
To setup the newest settings, HP is recommending version 9. Which is a bug fixer for V8.
Bring it on!
Regards
