Elden Ring's UI is a little different, something some developers should be able to Elden Ring Runes learn from considering how profitable Elden Ring has proved to FromSoft since its launch. The senior UI engineer at Blizzard Entertainment, named Valentine Powell pretty much echoed that sentiment in a short Twitter post. Powell said that features, such as disruptive UI elements, don't have to be present in every game simply because they're useful in other games. What Elden Ring is doing could-and can-be a learning experience for Western game developers.
Bruno Dias, a designer and writer for Sunless Skies developer Failbetter Games, told MMOexp over Twitter DMs that the debate has been heated and shows that some people don't comprehend the concept behind what FromSoft is trying to do with Elden Ring.
"It's fairly easy to critique Elden Ring's UI/UX however it's not for me to declare that it's not good in general terms," Dias said. "It's...fine certainly livable for the majority of gamers playing the game. And there's definitely some level in not trying to figure out why certain things happen as that they do."
Dias said that unlike other open-world games Elden Ring is unique in that the Elden Ring map does not always show the most recent developments, but it does provide tools to allow you to mark it up manually.
Still, the pared-back UI enhances Elden Ring's strengths as an exploration game that is open to the world. The minimalist HUD lets you to explore through the Lands Between unimpeded by objective markers or ad-hoc icons. It's easy to get lost and not feel the pressure of finishing this challenge of beating that boss. It's relaxing and, more specifically, rejuvenating because the game rely on you to discover your way, whether through your own intuition, guides, or observation, or all three.
"I do not believe that every single decision made by FromSoft is perfectly intentional and in the end, it's true that there are a few instances where Elden Ring seems to be performing things in a certain way to cheap Elden Ring Items a specific reason," Dias said.
