On the Enfocus website I can not find correct system requirements for the latest builds of Powerswitch (9.3) and Pitstop Server (10.1), or rather incomplete info. Maybe my understanding is not sufficient.

For the future release of Powerswitch 10 there isn't any info.



Pitstop Server 10.1:



Microsoft® Windows® 2003 or 2008 Server Standard, Enterprise Edition or R2

_ what about SP2 for 2003?

_ Is there a SP for 2008?

_ 32 or 64 bit?

_ 2008 R2 is always 64 bit?

Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate

_ what about SP 1?

_ 32 or 64 bit?



Powerswitch 9.3:



Microsoft® Windows® 2003 Server Standard or Enterprise Edition

_ no info on R2 for win2003? Nor SP.

_ 32/64 bit

Microsoft® Windows® 2008 Server Standard or Enterprise Edition

_ same questions as for Pitstop server.

Microsoft® Windows® 7, Home Premium, Business or Ultimate Edition (32-bit and 64-bit)

_ what about SP1?

Could you please provide me with the correct system requirements for Powerswitch 10.

Our System Requirements should become clear when you keep the following in mind:

- Service Packs are considered similar to the regular Operating systems. They are only to be taken into account when they are mentioned in the system requirements. If there is a Service Pack mentioned, then this service pack and the higher service packs are supported. If there isen’t one mentioned, all of them are supported.

- R2 releases have much more differences under the hood than the original release compared to service packs. Sometimes they're even based on a different Windows NT version. Therefore a R2 release has to be specifically mentioned in the system requirements in order to be supported.

- We generally Support 64 bit, except on Windows XP. At the moment, all our products will run in 32 bit mode on 64 bit systems.

Windows 2003 SP2 and Windows 2008 SP2 64 bit are both supported.

Windows 7 SP 1 is supported, both in 32 bit and 64 bit version

Windows 2003 R2 is not mentioned and therefore not supported.

Windows 2003 SP is supported, both in 32 and 64 bit.

We are going to improve the notation of our System Requirements in our future releases. We already use this new notation for Switch 10:
