Can't read output jobs from not local machine

Hi all,
I installed Switch 12 update 3 into Windows 8.1.
And I set the output folder in one of my flows shared for another Windows 7 machine in the same network.
So I can't read the output jobs in the shared folder with the Windows 7 machine as a Guest.
The flow includes PitStop Server Configurator.
Do I need to change the permissions of them with any command ? :(
Regards,

Hi saitok,

Are the machines domain joined or standalone/workgroup?
Can you browse to the shared folder via Windows Explorer?

Thank you Sander,
The machines are workgroup.
I can browse the shared folder and output jobs in it via Windows Explorer.
But I can't open them and can't copy them.
If I make an output folder on the client machine and share it from the server, this works fine.
Regards,

Can be a permission issue, but before figuring that out I just realised I had a network folder issue once.
Let's take that as example: \\HPPRO1-SM1\Jobs is mapped to K:\. When I select a path in Switch I can browse to K:\ and select a folder, however Switch was not able to use it. I had to change the path to the UNC path for it to work, like this;

If not, we go on to the permissions

Don't think so.
First of all I would try to assign the Everyone group with all rights to both the Sharing and Security tab (when you right click the shared folder).
For sure only for testing, depending on your network you might not want the everyone group to access the share.

Can't include a English Windows screenshot, so I go for Dutch instead. It's Delen (=Sharing) and Beveiliging (=Security).

Well, thinking back to my good old networking days, that's before august and when I was thrown in the deep at my new job and Switch, that aside. Back then I hated guest access, and the easiest way to gain access to another workgroup computer, and don't struggle with permissions, is to create a user account on both the computers with the same username and password (no blank password). Definately the easiest way to be sure you don't run into permission issues.
So if your switch is running under PC-01\Administrator with blank password than give that account a password, and do the same with PC-02\Administrator. Ah well, that might be lazy, but for sure can help you :geek:

Thank you very much Sander, :)
Regarding to the output folder's property, I've added Everyone group to the both of Sharing and Security tab with read and execute permissions.
So when I manually put any files into the folder, the file's Security tab of the property also shows Everyone.

But when the file trough Switch and PitStop Server configurator, the file's Security tab doesn't include Everyone.

I can access them with the user who has the same name and password with the server as you said.
And I guess I can do that with the user who takes part in Administrators group of the server.
The reason why I asked here is I set up the similar environment in the past, but I don't remember if I need such instructions like this.

Haha fun, screenshots Dutch vs Chinese that is?

But, it's working now with the same user? So no need for the Everyone group anymore?

Anyway, looks like the source permissions are preserved, this usually happens when a file is copied within the same volume. It should not do that on a network share. My best guess: these permissions are from the folder where Switch created this file and these are preserved.

What does it say in the yellow marked at your share? It should say this folder and all subfolders and files. Files in the folder should inheritance with the users\groups assigned over here.

Hi Sander, and sorry for not contacting you for a long time.

It's Japanese.
Finally I couldn't do it well.
So I've decided to use Execute command with CACLS.

Thank you very much for your great advises. :)

Good to hear you finally managed to solve it.
Very strange behaviour tho!

Ah well, Japanse, sorry for the Chinese blame! ;)

Anyway, glad I could help a little. Always looking to gain more Switch experience :)
