Hi all,

I can't figure out how to add a filename suffix that have auto number. For example :

Before:

Job0001.pdf

Job0203.pdf

Job1902.pdf

Job0055.pdf

Job0204.pdf

Job2000.pdf

Job3455.pdf

Job5666.pdf

.....

After:

Job0001@1.pdf

Job0203@2.pdf

Job1902@3.pdf

Job0055@4.pdf

Job0204@5.pdf

Job2000@6.pdf

Job3455@1.pdf

Job5666@2.pdf

.....

The number need to start from 1 till 6 then start from 1 again. Until it reach the 30th file (we use "Assemble Job" to hold 30 files per batch / folder).

Why we need to do this though, is to have "Impose Downward" style imposition.

Each file we have pre sorted that, each PDF will have 40 Pages.

To perform the imposition, we had set up a Impostrip Hotfolder, with balanced section setting. And the layout have 6 sections.

Now what we lack is to add these special suffix, and let impostrip know which section these files goes to. (@1 goes to section 1, @2 goes to section 2 etc)

I suppose we can use a script expression to "count" the files and insert the digits, but i have no coding background.

Thanks in advance,

Vicnent

I'm sure that a Switch reseller or consultant would be able to develop a custom flow to solve your needs.

Any update on this? I am also into imposition and I find this a very interesting way to automate layouts.

Nope, we end up commission Apago to write us a custom script & flow to do this.
